Hi I'm Stephen Cowley

I'm a student, a pianist, a soccer player, a skier. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am living in New York serving a mission. This means that I serve and teach people about the Christ's doctrine full-time. I am specifically assigned to work with the Deaf people that live between Statin Island and the end of Long Island. Before I came out here, I was a student at Brigham Young University. I really enjoy math, especially Calculus. I also love science. But, unfortunately, I'm not totally sure what to major in when I get back.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because it makes me so happy. I have found through the ups and downs of life, that when I am doing the things taught in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am happier. It is that simple. Living the gospel makes me happy. Also, the more I learn about the gospel, the more it just feels like it makes sense to me. There are many things not yet revealed to our church, but the things that have been revealed just feel right. I love how learning and teaching doctrine allows the Holy Ghost to touch my spirit. This is why I feel that this is Jesus Christ's church.

How I live my faith

Just before I left, I really loved what I did in church. I got to spend two hours every Sunday in a class for children. We had a time set aside for songs and I played the piano while everyone sang. It was a very fun assignment since I love to play the piano. Now, I live my faith by teaching people about Jesus Christ. While He was on this earth, he commanded us to "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations." As part of my efforts toward this commandment, I went on a mission.
