Hi I'm Shane Tidwell

I'm a student studying mechanical engineeing. I love basketball, gofling and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love spending time outside seeing the beauty of this earth! Whether it be up in the mountains by a lake, being in the mountains skiing, or on the golf course golfing, I love every minute of it. I am a student as well, and am studying mechanical engineering. It is a lot of hard work but I find such joy and satisfaction through my accomplishments in the classroom. I love learning and truly do enjoy school besides the long hours of homework. I also love spending time with my friends! We do absolutely everything together. We see movies, we watch sports, and we just spend time talking with one another. Family is also so important to me. My life is very family oriented. Spending time with one another and buoying each other up is what we do best. I just love them so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon, and have been blessed to always be one. For awhile I based came to church because of my parents but as I began to grow up, I needed to know for myself if the church was true. I remember feeling that confirmation given to me by the Spirit. My parents and I were able to visit the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith received the first vision. I have never felt the Spirit more strongly there and knew that I needed to serve a full-time mission. I have seen the blessings that come through being a Mormon. First of all, I am happier all the time. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I am able to feel my burdens and sins lifted from me and feel a peace that is unmatched in anything else. I know that Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw in the Sacred Grove and that through him this church was restored upon the earth. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today to lead and guide this church. I know that our families can be together forever if we follow the commandments of God I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that through it we can find answers to our prayers. Being a Mormon has blessed my life and cannot picture my life without this Church.

How I live my faith

I attend our church services every single week. It is such a great time to be able to take time out of the busy world and truly focus on our Father in Heaven and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a time when I can be filled with the spirit each and every week. I am home teacher to two families in the ward and enjoy visiting with them and sharing a message with them. I have been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have been assigned to serve in the South Dakota, Rapid City mission. Through accepting this calling I will be able to invite others to come unto Christ. I am showing my faith in Christ by leaving my family for two years to bless the lives of those that I will be able to teach. I truly love this gospel.
