Hi I'm Cherié

I own a massage business. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a single adult, I run my own massage business through contracting with other facilities. I want to make a difference in the lives of those around me. I love to spend time outside, rockclimbing, dancing, bikeriding. Shopping is fun especially with friends and family~ taking the chance to let loose a little.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, despite all the hard to follow philosophies, conflicting views and evolving beliefs out there in the world. I have found great peace and understanding through prayer and the Book of Mormon. I have learned for myself that God Lives, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Bible is scripture, and Joseph Smith was truly called of God to restore all that had been lost since Christ's earthly ministry. I can promise you greater perspective and happiness in this life then anything else as you too pray to know the truth of this message. As a junior in High School I realized my circle of friends were heading one way and my family was going another way. I needed to know where I stood. (In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints we are taught and encouraged from a young age to pray and ask God what we should do at such times.) I decided I would put it all to the test. I committed to myself and the Lord that I would do EVERYTHING I had ever been taught to do for 30 day's. I prayed morning and night, read the scriptures (Bible and Book of Mormon) each night, and I kept the commandments the best I could. I could never put into words the way my life changed in that month. I can never deny what I learned... That is why I am Mormon, the principles and doctrines taught through the living prophet and apostles are true! They bring understanding and joy in this life and in the life to come. I HAVE PROVED IT and I know this to be the restored church of Jesus Christ as he established it. Life is not always easy and there are times that I've wondered if this is really worth all the effort. I know it is! I know that this is where God needs me. It is in this Gospel truth is found. It is here that families are blessed to be together throughout the eternities. I know this is the one true and living church upon the earth. God is the same yesterday today and forever! You can know it for yourself as well. I invite you to find out...pray and ask God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with Christ at the center of my life. From watching what influences I allow to affect my life to spending time with others of my faith through attending church, institute and church activities. The more I learn about who Christ is the more I am humbled by His love for each of us, He gave the ultimate sacrifice and He gave it willingly so that we could have a way to be forgiven for our weaknesses. A chance to return and live with our Heavenly Father again... and the assurance that there is always someone who knows what we are going through someone who has been there and knows how to help us through. Over all I read the Bible, Book of Mormon and strive to emulate Christ I look for opportunities to serve and constantly improve. It is a life long endeavor to better myself as a Daughter of God. Basically my faith and love in Christ motivate me everyday to be more Christ-like and to share this hope and joy with others. Its a gift that keeps giving! Who wouldn't want to share that kind of opportunity?

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

As I have prepared and had the oppurtunity to serve in the mission field I didn't really understand how to answer this question until just recently, I was raised in the LDS church and I currently have two of my brothers serving a mission at the same time with me. one in Arizona and one in England. It's something that they've looked forward to for their entire lives and they have loved the oppurtunity to learn and grow in their knowledge of the Lord. to really come to have a personal and very real relationship with God and with Jesus Christ. at 23 years old I thought I had passed my time to serve a mission and was enjoying life, finding new hobbies and building my business until I realized that the Lord needed me to serve a mission. How? I felt a spiritual pull to share what I had been given. to help my brothers and sisters know that there is more to this life then the fun and excitement that is all around us. to know there is more to accomplish then earning a degree or even just being a mother and daughter. The Lord has a great work to accomplish among the children of men and He needs ME! and He needs you! He wants more then anything to have us with Him again in the life after this, to continue to learn and grow and develop for eternity and beyond. that is why I'm serving a mission and no it was not required of me by anyone other then the Lord, the God of Abraham and Issac and Jacob. the Messiah and the Great I AM who is the same yesterday today and forever! Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Baptism is refered to in the scriptures as the gate to eternal life. Christ taught that except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kindgom of God. the Ordinance of Baptism is symbolic of starting new on the path towards God. To be washed clean of previous sins and guilts through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, as well as making the covenant that we will "take upon us the name of christ, mourn with those that mourn, comfort those that stand in need of comfort, stand as a witness of God at all times in all things and in all places that ye may be in even until death that ye may be redeemed of God, that ye may have eternal life." Baptism is when we make that promise to our Father in Heaven that we will do those things... that we will endure to the end, following in the steps of christ as He has bid us to do through out the New Testament, Come follow me... Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

I like best the analogy of the police man. If you were speeding down the freeway and the car behind you tries to pull you over are you going to pull over? if the car behind you is a policeman who turns his lights on to pull you over are you going to pull over? there is an authority that is necessary when you are acting in the name of God. why else would it have mattered to christ to give that power and authority to the 12 apostles and if that had never been lost why would Paul have taught about a need for a restoration of all things...The authority to act in the name of God is a sacred privilege and essential to performing saving ordinances. What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom is a Law of health. It gives a basic outline of how we should treat our body's with respect and wisdom. giving us the responsibility to maintain this precious gift that has been given to us as children of god. We know that not only does living the word of wisdom bless us physically with energy and strength. Living according to this Law also blesses you with the ablilty to better understand and hear the voice of the Holy Ghost in your life. We know through the revelation given to Joseph Smith and through praying to ask God if it is correct. that we shouldn't drink Alcohol, Coffee, Tea, smoke tabacco or take any Illegal drugs. I personally have been able to see the difference it has made in my life to live by this law/ commandment. I can testify of its truth and divinity, as I have taken the time to pray and ask God if it truly is His Law. Life is hard enough and we all know that the guidance we recieve from God will bless and strengthen our family and ourselves, I can't imaginge wanting to do anything that would jepardize that relationship and my ability to communicate or recieve that guidance from the Holy Ghost.
