Hi I'm Nick

I live in Wetherby, England. I am married to Emma and have six children, I work with special needs children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being out and about with my family especially holidays. I enjoy climbing mountains and walking in the countryside, I also love mountain biking and canoeing.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church some 35 years ago so I have mostly been in the church for the best part of my life. I loved the principles of the church and it helps you grow and mature into a caring and loving individual. I prayed to know if this is the true restored church in these the latter days and received a confirmation through the Holy Ghost that indeed it was. You can grow up in the church for some time on the back of your parents testimony especially if you are born into the church but that is not sufficient after a time, you yourself have to feel the love of your Heavenly Father and develop faith and a testimony that this indeed is the true and restored gospel here upon the earth. It wonderful to know that wherever you are in the world you can usually find one of our churches with loving members who also follow the same principles and programs that you do in your own ward or branch.

How I live my faith

I am currently second counsellor on the bishopric working along side the Bishop of the Harrogate ward. I really enjoy being able to love and serve members of this ward currently around 200 each week. There are some amazing people in this ward who are always thinking of others. I strive to be a better example to those around me and continue to grow in the gospel. Its a great feeling to help others get over obstacles in their lives and see them flourish in the church. I enjoy working with the youth of the church aged 12-17 and also have opportunities to teach in the primary to those between 4-11 years of age.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Our meetings are open for anyone to attend. They usually start at around 10am and last for approx 70 mins. They are inspirational and we have an opportunity to listen to assigned speakers who will talk on various topics including Faith, Honesty, Families as well as the Atonement etc. We also think of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made and to partake of the sacrament which is blessed and passed by the Priesthood. Following our sacrament meeting we split into various classes incl Adult sunday school, youth and primary. We also have a nursery which is for any child over 18 months old to 3 years old.
