Hi I'm Mark

I'm a college student. I'm a Texan. I love sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full-time mission for the Church in Peru, but after two years of service I will return to school. I have no idea what career I want to pursue, but I love to learn. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing any sport, and playing and listening to music. I have been lucky enough to travel to several countries around the world and have enjoyed experiencing new cultures and locations. Living in Texas is the best though! The weather, the people, the food - everything is great.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the Church, so I have always been a Mormon. However, I was really converted to the gospel of Christ in high school. I realized then, I'm sure with help from the Holy Spirit, that if I truly believed what I heard at church every week then I needed to live it. Through faithful study and prayer, as well as doing the things that I was taught, I learned for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know that He suffered and died for the sins of the world and that He rose again, giving everybody a way back to God. I know that God has always spoken through prophets, and that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet. I have studied the Book of Mormon a great deal, and I know that it is scripture and that it has brought me closer to Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is so complete and perfect! I know that it is true. As I live my life the way my Savior wants me to, I am blessed with happiness and peace. And I wouldn't trade those feelings for anything.

How I live my faith

Serving as a missionary for the Church is hard work and a big sacrifice - I have put aside my family, friends, work, and school for two years to serve the Lord. But I love Jesus Christ and His gospel, and the sacrifice is completely worth it. Before my mission, I taught Sunday School for my congregation and was a home teacher (meaning I visited Church members every month to teach them and help them with anything they needed). On top of these callings I currently hold and have held in the past, I always try to apply the principles of the gospel in my life. Every day I do my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ, serving and loving others like He did. Nothing has had such a large impact on my life as have the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Church.
