Hi I'm Becca Sirrine

I grew up in SLC, Utah. I Love the gospel with all my heart. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of Seven children. Yep seven, ranging from 20 to 4. I am currently taking a break from my college education to serve a full time mission. I love swimming, art, and getting to know and love people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am initially a Mormon because I was born into a family that was sealed in the temple. I am still a Mormon because I have found that it is the only way for me to find, and maintain, happiness in my life. Living the gospel wasn't something that came easily for me. In my teenage years I didn't particularly want to be a part of the church. I only went because my parents took me there. However, when I moved out and 3.5 hours away from home to go to college things changed. I found myself enrolling in institute classes and attending weekly church meetings. Then one of my best friends invited me to a scripture study group that was held every night. At first I declined her invitation. As the semester wore on, I began feeling the stresses of college and being on my own. I soon began seeking for peace and comfort in my life. I started exercising more, eating better, and getting more sleep. Though those things helped, nothing really gave me the peace I wanted. So I took my friends' invitation and went to scripture study. It was the best decision of my life. I loved the feeling that was present, and the amazing people there. Soon, it became my nightly routine, and I did everything I could to be there every night. This started me back into reading my scriptures and praying daily, something I hadn't done in a very long time. My church meetings began to mean something to me and weren't just a motion I blindly went through. I then decided to go and talk with my bishop and begin moving towards holding a temple recommend. Over the next couple of months I diligently studied the scriptures and I finally found that peace that I was craving. I continued that intense desire to be close to God and Jesus Christ, and I have come to know for myself that this gospel is true. I know that this gospel is the Only way to find peace in this life. I know that the atonement is for us personally. Christ knows and loves each of us and wants so badly for us to be with him again.

How I live my faith

I have had several callings in the church. I have been the president of the various young women groups, and I was a primary teacher for the 9&10 year olds. (that was the best!) I start every morning by attending religion classes at the Institute, which is a building dedicated to the learning of the Gospel of Christ. I actively attend church every Sunday. I believe the biggest part of living my faith is my daily prayers and scripture study. I try every day to learn and live the words that are taught by the prophets.

What is the priesthood?

Becca Sirrine
The priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. This authority is given to worthy males. This authority is the same authority that existed in the origional Church that Christ established on the earth. The priesthood is used to serve God's children.
