Hi I'm Jace Ellsworth

I'm 19 years old from Southern Utah. I leave on my mission to Spain in 11 days. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and always moved a lot when I was growing up. When I was 12 years old my family moved and we've stayed here ever since. I've always loved sports. In high school I was on the swim team and the tennis team. Now in my spare time I love to play football and tennis, or pretty much anything with a ball. I play the guitar and I used to be a projectionist at a local movie theater. I'm an average 19 year old boy. I started school up at Brigham Young University last semester and I loved it! Soon I will be leaving the U.S. to travel to Malaga, Spain where I will spend the next two years serving my mission. I love life, and I can't wait to go out, serve the lord, and bring people to the knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the church, and I've always grown up being taught the principles of the gospel. When I was 8 years old I made the decision to be baptized, and when I was 12 years old I was given the Aaronic Priesthood. In our church when a young man turns 19 they are given the opportunity to serve a mission. This is a big decision for most boys, because it means taking two years off of school to go out and serve. To me it was no hard decision. All my life I have been preparing myself to be a servant unto the Lord, and what a great way to do that by leaving my family, flying to a foreign country, learning a language completely foreign to me, and preaching the words of the prophets and Jesus Christ. I know for a fact that this is the true church of God. He sends his word through scripture and prophets that I would be lost without. I know that when Joseph Smith was 14 years old God the Father and Jesus Christ visited him. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and that it is the word of God. I may just be a young man, but I know that this church is the true church on the earth today. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of the Lord and that he has been instructed to guide us and teach us in these latter days. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church.

How I live my faith

Over my life I have had a number of callings within my ward at home. As a youth I have always been in the leadership roles organizing activities for the boys my age. As I've grown older I've transitioned into being an instructor to men in my ward up at BYU. I teach gospel principles and help get everyone excited for their chance to go out and serve the lord. For the next two years I will be serving the people of Malaga, Spain. I can't wait to go out and spread the gospel and teach others the gospel.
