Hi I'm Johanna

I'm a missionary, I'm a student, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a University Student, planning to major in Biology and eventually become a Naturopathic Doctor. I am the oldest of 5 boys. My family is my whole world. I love singing, and though I don't spend enough time really practicing, you will always find me singing along in the car. I love kids, and I want to help them grow up healthy and happy. My plan is to work primarily with children when I become a doctor. I have worked for as long as I can remember. I have had a job since I was 14. I enjoy working. I am serving a full-time mission in Chicago, Illinois.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, both my parents a were raised Mormon and they passed it on to their children. Most of my life I went along with it and believed until I got to my teenage years when being Mormon, and sticking to the guidelines I had been taught my whole life wasn't the easy or cool thing to do anymore. I began to rebel, and do the things that I thought were "cool". Though I couldn't see it then, the choices I was making in my life brought me more sadness and loneliness than I had ever before felt. Through all this time in my life I felt my Savior offering me His loving hand and help and I continued to be prideful and push Him away, along with the loving guidance of my parents. Eventually I went off to college and I had the blessing of being accepted to, and attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. This was exactly where I needed to be in my life in order to find myself. I left all of my old friends and my old life behind. I was by myself. Long story short, I did find myself, but more importantly I found my Savior. He never stopped showing me His love and His mercy, He never stopped sending me encouragement, and helping me to find my way back to Him. I am a Mormon because I was never more alone or unhappy then when I tried not to be, then when I tried to walk away from this church. I am a Mormon because I have never felt my Savior's love for me stronger than when I am living a clean and Christ-like life. When I stand as a Mormon I know I am not alone, and I stand with millions of others, and more importantly I stand with God. I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true, I have felt it in my heart. I am a Mormon so that I can live with my family forever. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person, it gives me the knowledge that I am a child of God, and shows me the potential I have. I love my Father in Heaven, I love my Savior, I am so grateful for their gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each Sunday and participating with the other members. I serve whenever is necessary. I am going to serve a full-time mission in Chicago, Illinois. I serve in the Primary with the young children between the ages of 3-12. This calling is a blast, and all of those little children teach me so much. Their pure love of Christ and their unshakable belief in God, and his goodness inspires me to be that humble and accepting.
