Hi I'm Dennis Dahle

I'm a lawyer. I love sharing the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lawyer living in Utah, but will begin service as the president of the Philippines Olongapo Mission on July 1, 2014. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Sheralyn, and we have seven children and ten grandchildren. Our happiness comes from our family, living and sharing the gospel, and serving others. When Sheralyn and I were thirty years old we decided that I should return to school to study law. We already had five children at the time, but the prompting was too strong to ignore. We gathered up our little children and moved to a different city, where I attended law school. The Lord blessed us during this time. Our old car continued to run, and somehow we had enough money to get by. Although we experienced many of the challenges of child rearing, we credit lessons learned in the temple with helping us. During a temple dedication I felt a voice speak to me, saying "If you love your children enough you can bring them back here." I knew then that I had to learn how to love my children as the Lord loves them in order to help them, and that I needed to follow Jesus' loving example. All of our children did return to the temple and were married there. My wife and I have been preparing for many years to serve a mission for our churh. In December of 2013, we received a mission call to the Philippines from President Henry B. Eyring, whom we sustain as a prophet. We are looking forward to serving among the wonderful people there.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my dear mother taught me the gospel as a child. Later, when I was a teenager, I accepted the challenge to pray about whether the Book of Mormon is true. I received a witness that it is! On many occasions since then the Holy Ghost has confirmed to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

My church has given me many opportunities to serve others. I have been a Sunday School teacher, a bishop (a leader of a local congregation), and stake president (one who presides over several congregations), and now mission president. I have also served in the community by organizing and leading a non-profit organization that provides resources for people struggling with emotional issues. My church experiences have also given me an opportunity to serve as a missionary in Japan, and lead a congregation of young single adults from all over Asia. The more I serve others the more joy I feel in my own life.
