Hi I'm Jena

I grew up on the east coast with my loving family of 5. I have a love for swimming. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old and am from the good ol south. I have a love for swimming and will take every chance I can get to be in or around water. I have been a swimmer for most of my life. Since the end of my career I have been able to continue my love for the sport through teaching and coaching others. I am one of 3 children in my family. I have an older sister and a younger brother. I have two loving parents who are some of my greatest examples and my main support system. Outside of swimming I love spending time with my friends and family. There is nothing better than sharing laughs and making memories with those I love most. I am a student at Brigham Young University and am studying dietetics. I have currently deferred from school for 18 months to stand as a representative of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and to share my testimony with the people in the New Hampshire, Manchester mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my entire life so being a Mormon has always been apart of who I am. As I have gotten older though, I have come to gain a testimony of mine own that I cannot deny. The main reason I am a Mormon is because of the knowledge I have of a loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a daughter of God and he knows me personally and has a plan for my life. Jesus Christ atoned for my sins so that I can repent and become like him. Because of Christ’s atonement I can ultimately gain eternal life and live with my Heavenly Father again. From knowing of my Heavenly Father’s love and Christ’s sacrifice for me I can have peace in this life as I know I can always go to my Heavenly Father in prayer and that Christ understands all that I go through and can strengthen me through every trial. The gospel is the center of my life and because so I have received joy and direction in my life. I am so grateful for my membership and for the testimony I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing what I know to be true and being as Christ-like as I can. I love knowing the plan my Heavenly Father has for me as his daughter. As I have come to know him I have come to know who I really am. It is through knowing and following his plan that I have found peace and joy in this life. From living in the southeast my faith is often questioned and compared to others. I have come to enjoy sharing the gospel with others and letting them know why I have found so much joy in this life. For the next 18 months I will live my faith by sharing my testimony with everyone I come in contact with as a full time missionary. As a disciple and representative of Jesus Christ I make every effort to share my testimony and to follow the will of my Heavenly Father and the example of my Savior.
