Hi I'm Camille Masino

I am a California girl. I am a ballet dancer. I am a missionary. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I came into this world with some physical challenges. One of these challenges is that I was born deaf on my right side and through the first 10 years of my life I lost much of the hearing in my left ear due to allergies and a tumor that developed in my inner ear. At age 14 I made the decision to have Bone Anchored Hearing Aides made by Cochler implanted on my head. I LOVE being able to hear! I have never let my hearing loss or my other physical challenges slow me down. Even though I have been in and out of surgeries my entire life I have worked extra hard to succeed in everything that I do. Ever since I was 3 years old I have loved to dance. I would go into ballet class 6 days a week even if I was sick, dizzy, weak, or couldn't hear. I would wrap my head in a scarf after every surgery to cover my shaved head and walk into class so grateful to be there. I danced with a ballet company for a few years during high school and spent my summers at professional ballet companies summer intensives. My devotion to school and my ability to hear allowed me to earn the grades I needed to make it into the college that I am currently attending. At this point I want to give back and help others. I have been so blessed and I would not change one thing in my life. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is everything to me. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I am a daughter of God, and that He knows me personally and loves me unconditionally. Because of this knowledge I know that no matter what trial is placed before me I am not alone and that He will give me the strength to be ok. I am grateful for the knowledge of how to pray and feel His spirit. It feels like a warm rush of peace running through my entire body. I have needed to pray so many times. Through prayer I was comforted as a little girl when I was scared at night in the dark and could not hear. He comforted me as I went into 13 different surgeries. He comforted me when the doctors told me I may never hear again. He comforted me when I was recovering after surgery and I was struggling to breathe. He comforted me when I was nervous that I would not be accepted to the college I dreamed of. He comforted me every time I would be back stage and ready to dance in front of hundreds of people. He has comforted me as I left of college. He has comforted me each time I have learned of a new challenge I would be facing. Im not fearful. I know that my life is in His hands. I know that He has a plan for me and I am grateful for my plan. He knows what He needs me to do for Him and I will be happy where ever that leads me in life. I trust my Heavenly Father 100%. Why am I mormon? Because the teachings of the restored gospel are true. This knowledge has been confirmed to me over and over everyday of my life. I am who I am because of this gospel. This is Christ's church. He set it up through a modern day prophet. I love knowing that we have a prophet today to lead us and guide us. I Love my Heavenly Father. I am grateful to Christ for his loving atonement for each one of us. I want to share Christ's love with others so they too can have the same feeling of happiness, love and peace in their life. We were not sent here to be alone. Heavenly Father is really there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by how I treat others. I know Heavenly Father loves each one of us. I always try to treat others the way He would want me to treat them. I recently spoke to a large audience of people both elderly to little children who all wear cochlear implants or the BAHA system. I shared with them my story and I wanted to inspire every parent to believe in their children that they can accomplish great things in this life. I also teach the 6 year olds at church. I learn from them each week. During high school I helped plan activities for all the youth in our area. We planned monthly dances, we brought in inspirational speakers and we put on a summer youth conference to build up each teenagers relationship with Christ. My senior year of high school I was so happy to work with the special needs teenagers at my school. Daily we would work on skills needed to independently function in society today. My faith is everything to me. My faith is who I am, how I think, how I treat others, its my hope for my future, it is what brings me peace and joy everyday no matter what each day will bring....I am calm because of my faith.
