Hi I'm Cason

I'm an artist, singer, songwriter, actor, writer, missionary. I am a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary for the LDS church in the Missouri, St. Louis mission. I love serving, teaching, and helping people come to know Jesus Christ. I'm a singer of jazz, madrigals, country, pop, and sometimes opera (if I'm warmed up enough.) I love to draw, and love drawing for people even more. I'm also a novelist. Before my mission I was working on a series, and afterward, plan to finish and someday publish it. My deepest desire is to raise a family in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and help share what I've come to know with the rest of the world using the talents God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Heavenly Father, and Jesus the Christ live. I am a Mormon, because without the atonement, I would be completely and utterly lost. I am a Mormon because I love the Lord, and I know that with the gospel in my life, the Book of Mormon as my guide, and the temple as my safe haven, I can be closer to Him than I ever could be otherwise. I know this church is true, for it was restored by a true prophet called of God. I know also because the Holy Ghost has manifested it unto me on numerous ocasions, and I cannot deny the truth of this glorious gospel.

How I live my faith

I find that in life, there are many ways of seeing things. One way, is to wish you had the lemons to be able to make lemonade. Another, is to take the oranges Heavenly Father gave you and turn them into something just as good. In my life I've had plenty of moments when one second I'm planting a lemon tree, and the next it's harvest season and I'm left with a bucket full of oranges. However, as contradictory it may seem, it is in these moments that I realize I have more options than I thought. For example, I love to sing. I've been in choir my whole life, and have done my part to contribute to many other groups as well. Any chance I get, I will sing, as if there wasn't anything wrong in the world and all that mattered was song. However, despite my musical outlook, there have been several instances in which school, work, family or social life have interfered with those lyrical passions. As time went on, I would become stressed and find there was no time for singing. But as a problem with school or friends would occur, I quickly found that the only way I could resolve the situation, was to use the talents I had left behind in my haste to deal with the rest of my life. Through music I could connect to others as well as myself, and find inspiration to solve my problems I otherwise couldn't. Though I sometimes wish for the zesty lemonade of one thing, like singing blissfully and without a care, I love the challenge of turning the unexpected oranges of life, into the sweetest juice I could ask for. For it is in these ironic moments that I realize that I am not in control, but the Lord is and he will not let me suffer. No task is too great, and with Him, I can make even the most un-lemony orange, into something wonderful, and have the better outlook on life.
