Hi I'm Candice

I'm a nursing student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love baking! My apartment almost always has some sort of baked goods available. I also love the outdoors. It's just so calm and peaceful to be outside. I enjoy running and playing sports. I'm not super great at either but still have a lot of fun with them and at times can get pretty competitive.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. It took me a while of sincere prayer to come to this knowledge but I know it without a doubt. I know that we have a Heavenly Father that loves us and knows us individually. I know that He sends us tender mercies (little blessings) that are unique to us on a regular basis. I know that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, that lives and loves us. I know that He atoned for my sins and that He bore all my pains and burdens. I know that I can turn to Him for strength and He will help me to carry on. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I know this because as I read it I feel peace and my Heavenly Father's love for me. I know that when I fail to read it on a regular basis I have a harder time tuning into what my Heavenly Father would have me do. I know that through the ordinances done in the temple that families can be together forever. This knowledge is special to me because when I was five my younger brother who was just two and a half passed away from cancer, but I know because of what the Savior did he will live again. I know that God hears and answers our prayers. He doesn't always answer them how we would want or in our timing but he hears them and He will answer we just have to patiently listen. I know we have a living prophet on the earth today and that if we heed what he has to say, which is what God would have us do, we will not go astray. I'm so grateful that I know I have a loving Heavenly Father and Savior. That knowledge is what enables me to continue on when life gets hard and I feel like I can't go any further. He is there and I promise if you genuinely seek after Him you will find Him and it will be the greatest blessing of your life.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve with the women in the Church. Serving has given me the opportunity to see God's love for each of the sisters in my ward. Visiting teaching has also been a blessing in my life. It has helped me form new friendships and helped me to feel my Savior's love for me. The sisters I visit and those that have visited me have been great strengths to me when I have gone through hard times in my life. They've always just really cared. I can recall one experience in particular when the sister I was visiting said something that was exactly what I needed to hear at the time. I know it was what my Heavenly Father wanted me to know and remember.
