Hi I'm Tasha Romney

I attended school in Hawaii. I'm an athlete and a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! Im a 21 year old girl who loves life and loves the people in it! I grew up in a small town with few people of my faith, but still stood for what I believed. I attended school at Brigham Young University Hawaii for 2 1/2 years and I am now ready to serve a full time mission in the Brazil Salvador mission!! I love my family and friends SO much. I enjoy playing competitive volleyball and working out in general! I also love taking voice lessons and playing the piano in my spare time! I have 2 brothers, one older and almost graduating college, and the other younger, almost graduating highschool! They are so fun!! I have a great relationship with my parents, as I tell them almost everything that happens in my life. It brings me so much joy to have close relationships with my family. For my career, I would like to work at a gym and teach fitness classes and also be a personal trainer! On top of that Im also majoring in Music, or even vocal performance when I get off my mission! I just think that God has so much in store for everyone; we just need to take a chance and bridle our passions! Do the things you love doing and dont be afraid to try ANYTHING!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who was also Mormon, so I was lucky enough to not have to seek this gospel. I know that this gospel is true because of the blessing that I receive when I am living it. Many people say that they don't need church...well I can tell you that we as Mormons are not following a Church. We are following the teachings of Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. Our church is the same anywhere you go! The reason why is because we dont follow preachers who come up with their own belief system...we believe in the Book of Mormon and other doctrine that was received through revelation. I know in my heart that this gospel is true. I know because i've prayed about it, studied it, and have lived it all of my life. I can see the positives in my life and know that they are because there is a God in heaven rewarding me for my faith, and reassuring me that this is real!!!! I know that God loves EVERYONE who is living and who has ever lived on the earth....and those who will live! He created us all, and wants us, his children to be so happy! I know that everyone has a purpose in life! Sometimes its hard knowing what it is, but if we are faithful to our Creator, he will allow our plans to unfold in time. Patience is key. I also know that I will be able to live with my family again after this life! That is the most amazing thing about this gospel is that it allows me to live with them, in a perfect, glorified place. I also know that God is a very forgiving man. He knows us better than anyone else. He knows our thoughts and true intentions and is very ready to forgive us of any mistakes we've made. I know that we can be forgiven because of a perfect savior, Jesus Christ. He died for us so that we could be clean of our transgressions. It might be hard to understand this, but the feelings that I get when i talk, hear or read about it rings true to me that its right. I know that we are loved by a kind, gracious Heavenly Father, and we WILL live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love attending church! It makes me so much happier for the following week and lifts my spirits up. I have always loved it..even as a little girl. I love it because everyone is so loving, and im also hearing messages of how much God loves me. Life wouldn't be happy without it! I have had certain callings in church, starting at the age of 12. Its not always something that is time consuming but they are callings that will give me opportunities to grow as a person. I have had leadership opportunities in the group of 12-18 year old girls when I was in highschool! I helped in planning and following through with those activities on a weekly basis! I have been assigned as a teacher to all the women in my college ward (where everyone meets). I have been a church choir director, and right now I am currently teaching sunday school to a class of cute little kids between the ages of 4-6! No matter what the call is, there are blessing that I receive from them. I am also a visiting teacher to other women of my faith. Everyone is assigned people that they should visit at least once a month and visit with them. Its a great way to try and help out everyone. We may not know how hard of a time someone is having, and it is nice to check in to make sure everyone has a friend. It may sound like I have had a lot of responsibilities, but I know that it is so important to be doing the things im asked. It blesses my life and the lives of others.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Tasha Romney
Church is a very reverent place. We don't have bands play songs for us, or people jumping up shouting Hallelujiah. It is a place where everyone is welcome. In our primary worship service we partake of the sacrament, listen to others share their thoughts and feelings on certain subjects and hear reverent musical numbers. Its a place to feel peace and receive personal guidance. Its great! Show more Show less
