Hi I'm Tanner

I'm Tanner and I am enjoying the weather today.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho. There's lots of space for activities, so that's nice. Fishing is a wonderful pass time. I enjoy listening to sports talk radio, and I force my dear wife, Traci, to listen to it as we commute 30 minutes to school. I also like thinking and watching storms roll in. Communication is exhilarating to me, and writing is a welcome outlet for my freight train of a mind. I lived in England for two years doing missionary service. I miss London and the wonderful people I met in East Anglia. I was married on January 4, 2014, to the aforementioned Traci. She's super good at making cheese quesadillas, rendering me a happy boy on evenings when the fridge is empty. We're trying to get our collective life in order, and I have a hunch that we probably never will. It’s fine.

Why I am a Mormon

It's been 22 years since I joined the church. The best 22 years of my life. My parents always urged me to live true to the precepts of Christ, and; especially in retrospect, I've seen how much it has helped me. After heaving myself into adult life, I'm coming to realize that it isn't very easy. Insurance, groceries, rent, what to wear to a job interview, these are all the collective worry of my existence. I remember all I cared about a few years ago was what I was doing on the weekend, and what I'd be eating for lunch. I'm learning the value of faith in God, discovering that it is an anchor for a positive life and a happy marriage. I'm glad.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning from the past, praying for strength in the present, and envisioning my future.
