Hi I'm Claire

I'm a soon to be missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am 1/4 Hawaiian. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy life! I enjoy living, and living each day with a purpose. To live it with my fullest potential. I am a believer in bucket lists! And find them to be the epitome of how life should be lived. The, "What do you want to do before you die?" kind of thing. I also enjoy the arts. I like creating drawings and water color paintings mostly. I have worked with ceramics, but found drawing to be my best work. I also have a love for music! I am not musically gifted, but I can tell you, if I did not have music I would be a dull person. Music, art, and living my life with the potential of eternal happiness, are the things that truelly make me happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a less active family. My parents gave all of my siblings the option of learning for ourselves if the church was true. They didn't want to pressure us into anyhting. I was baptized around the age of nine. It wasn't until age twelve that I became an avid active member of the church. My ward reached out to my family in a really hard time and opened their hearts to letting us in. From then on, my testimony grew. I feel my Savior's love for me constantly. From helping me through trials, to even answering my prayers. I know that He is there with me and helps guide me to the path which I need to return to my Heavenly Father and live in eternal glory. I am so greatful for the Holy Ghost and all in does in leading us to that path. And cannot wait for the day that I can be reunited with my Heavenly Father. I also know that Joseph Smith did see God, face to face, and was given the commandment to bring His gospel back to His children. To teach them further of Christ's love and stories of other prophets that help lead and guide us home to Him. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had the plan to serve a mission ever since my freshman year of high school. When the Lord presented to President Monson in October the need for every worthy sister to serve at 19 rather than 21, I cried. I cried for two hours straight! Haha, I can't even describe how happy I was! The Lord answered my prayer that day. A prayer I asked Him three days earlier, "What am I to do in life that will make me truelly happy and allow me to serve thee?" This was before the age change and I wasn't sure on what to pursue in college, career, family; future life cares basically. When I received this answer, you better believe I cried and gave thanks to Him for days. I eagerly started, completed, and submitted my papers and was given the call the serve in the Tacloban, Philippines Mission starting March of 2013! I have already seen blessings in my life that this is the mission for me and for the others I will come across and will help them to learn more of their Heavenly Father and His eternal love and plan for them.
