Hi I'm Melanie

I grew up in Salt Lake and went to Price for college. I'm planning on going into Elementary Education after a mission.

About Me

I'm a college student preparing to go on a mission. When I come back I plan on finishing school. When the time comes I plan on getting married and having a family. I love to sing and I'm involved in the institute choir at my institute.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church but life for me has not been perfect. When I was eight my parents were divorced and later I was baptized. My family soon fell away from the gospel and sadly not all have returned. It wasn't until I was in high school that I started going to church for myself. I had only gone with some neighbors. In high school my best friend invited me to seminary. I loved it and learned a lot. I was reconnected with the church and some of my family fallowed my example. My faith was tested when people died, six of them in one year. Through this I was able to learn and grow and become closer to our Hevenly Faher and Christ. I'm great-full for this church and for the comfort that it gives me. I'm excited to go out and serve Him on a mission and share what this gospel means to me. I know that this church is true and that it can only bring us as much peace and happiness that we allow it to.

How I live my faith

I participate in service projects when I can but with being in college it is hard. I am currently the visiting teaching coordinator in my ward. This means that once a month I call the companions and ask them if they did their visting teaching and report to the relief society president. I'm also apart of institute council. With this I encourage people to sign up and attend their institute classes. For all of theses things a daily scripture study and many prayers help me to get everything done.
