Hi I'm Lacey

I'm a novelist, poet, saxophone player, and a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm the oldest of five, and a student, working on a Bachelor's in English. I love creative writing and editing. I've had poetry published, and I'm currently working on a novel. I was very involved with music in high school. I played the saxophone (with the bari being my favorite) and loved marching and jazz band. I love running and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

My family didn't go to church until I was almost 8. They then, with the help of the missionaries, started going back. So I basically grew up in the church; it's all I remember. My senior year of high school though, I was starting to wonder if the LDS faith was for me. My friend's were all of different beliefs, and they were a huge influence on me. I stopped caring about the church and following its teachings, and before I knew it, I noticed I was miserable. I realized that I completely believed in the church, but I had merely forgotten it, or at least tried to forget it because it was easier to pretend it wasn't true. It's what truly makes me happy though; it's that sunshine that makes each day brighter. It's because I know that truth that I continue to follow His gospel.

How I live my faith

I pray night and day, as well as with every meal. I'm constantly trying to remember my Heavenly Father and see His hand in my everyday life! I try to study my scriptures and go to the temple as often as I can, and I try to make the sacrament every Sunday a meaningful experience. I'm also not afraid to share my beliefs with others!
