Hi I'm Logan

I'm a writer. I'm a missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Logan and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a college student studying to be a writer. One of my greatest desires is to walk into a book store and see my name on the cover of a novel. I recently finished my first book, creative non-fiction, about the change of required age for LDS missionaries. Being personally affected by this, as I am one of these new young missionaries, I wanted to share the experience I had with this, as well as the experiences I saw others have. Some of my loves are my religion, my family, sunshine, music, laughing, and big, golden peaches.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I've seen how the gospel has blessed my family for generations, but I've also seen how the light in someone diminishes when they choose to step away and no longer be apart of it. I want the light. No one needs to force it on me because it's become a deep desire of my soul. I am a Mormon because I love my family and I understand that in order to be with them even after death, there are certain guidelines, principles, and ordinances to follow that only come through the gospel. There is no other way. There is no other source to find that happiness and light. If a person is searching for that happiness and light, or a reassurance of being with their family forever, this is the way. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the way to be happy in this life, and the life to come. This is my testimony.

How I live my faith

Before being called to serve a mission, I taught an excellent group of 12 year old's every Sunday. Being 12 is hard and confusing, as I painfully recall, but I would often come out of the classroom having learned more from them than they probably learned from me. Their sweet, curious spirits enlightened me to things I'd never thought before and I was constantly reminded of how Jesus loved the children and always took time to be with them. That is how I want to live my life, as Jesus did. Always taking time to love and serve other people because there is nothing in this world more important than people.
