Hi I'm Matthew Frederickson

I am a missionary in the England London South Mission. I love music. I love laughter. I love people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Matthew. I am currently a full-time missionary serving in the England London South mission! Before I left, I studied International Relations at BYU. When I return home, I will continue my studies there. I love music. Music is a major part of my life. It has had a deep impact on my life and always will. I enjoy indie, electronic, hip-hop, rock...basically any music that will make me dance, feel, or think. I love to sing and perform! I also love sports. I support BYU and all teams in the Washington DC area! I am a product of the DC suburbs- I grew up in Herndon, Virginia, a truly wonderful place. I have an amazing family- I am the oldest of four boys. I also have a ton of cousins who mean the world to me. I really don't know what I'd do without my family. I love this gospel and am so blessed to be able to share it to the people of England! :)

Why I am a Mormon

That is a good question, isn't it? Why AM I a Mormon?! Well, first and foremost, I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I love him and am eternally grateful for the sacrifice he made so that I can be happy. He loves me too, and I know that he loves all of you... personally! He suffered for all of our mistakes. He suffered through all of the pains that we bring upon ourselves and for all of the pains that life brings upon us. He knows how it feels to lose a loved one. He knows how it feels to be lonely. He knows how it feels to suffer. Therefore, he knows us better than we know ourselves. He can relate to us in a way that no one else can. He didn't have to make this sacrifice- he chose to. In the same way, we do not have to follow him- we too must make a choice, and dedicaet ourselves to him. I am also a Mormon because I love knowledge. I love to know things. I love to know what's happening, when it's happening, and why it's happening! Just hearing something is never enough for me! I have to clarify and confirm just about everything I hear. Furthermore, if I hear somethign good, I don't just want to hear about it... I want to take part in it. Because I am a Mormon, I have the answers to the questions that the world thirsts for and yet cannot find. I know why we are here, where we come from, and where we're going. Being a Mormon allows me access to the best learning tool out there- the Holy Ghost! Through it, I can and will come to know the truth of all things. I'm not trying to say that I know everything! I know practically nothing. What I DO know, what knowlege I DO possess, comes from God- not from myself! This knowledge includes the fact that the Book of Mormon is true and that Christ has restored his church on the Earth. I came to a knowledge of all this gradually, and so can you! By learning about Jesus Christ and praying about him, you too can come to know the truth of all of these things.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to walk in the path of my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is a perfect example for each and every one of us. As we constantly strive to emulate him, a light will come into our lives. We will have a greater understanding of the nature of God and our purpose on this Earth! I live my faith by doing my best to love others. While none of us are perfect, we all have the potential to be! Although it can be hard some times, I try and love all those that I meet. At the moment, I am a full-time missionary. Being a full-time missionary has blessed me in many ways. The primary way that being a full-time missionary has benefitted me, however, is the opportunity it has provided to bring OTHERS the blessings of the restored gospel. Losing ourselves in the service of others (whether we are full-time missionaries or not!) brings more happiness than anything else in this world. I live my faith by sharing it. When it comes to love, happiness, and belief- sharing isn't just caring... it is giving too! It is giving a gift that cannot be created or bought. It is the greatest of gifts, and for that reason we strive to share it with everyone. In summary, I suppose I live my faith by doing all I can to love others and make them happy!
