Hi I'm Whitney

I left my studies of fashion in New York City to serve a mission in Busan, Korea and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a junior at Parsons Design School in NYC before leaving for a mission to Korea. I am number 6 of 8 children. I am super loud and sarcastic. I love to sew, dance, cook, paint, really anything artsy! I can quote movies like nobody's business. All it takes is a nice summer breeze with the sun on my face and a popsicle to make me happy. I was born and raised in the LDS Church. I love college football in the fall (go Utes!), NBA basketball in the winter, and going on treasure hunts in the summer.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church it was easy to follow the rules and standards. As I grew up and moved to NYC by myself I began to notice how profound of an impact the church has had on my life. It is the reason I am who I am today. It brings me constant hope for the future. It gives me the knowledge that I am never alone and that I have the ability to do great things. It gives me a sure, unmoving foundation. Makes me part of something bigger than you or I, and blesses people all around the world. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. It has blessed me so much! Through its teachings I have had the opportunity to bless many others lifes. Isn't that what it's all about? Being able to help others and lighten their burdens.

How I live my faith

With living in NYC I had the opportunity to share my beliefs by the way I lived and presented myself. You stand out in the city if you don't party or drink. I showed how you could still have fun and uplift people. In my church I had the opportunity to help with Hurricane Sandy relief. Service is something that not only is very important to me but very important to LDS Church. The opportunity to freely give of my time and efforts to help people who were hit by such destruction and grief brought so much joy and light to my life. It is what our Savior Jesus Christ would do for us. I now have the opportunity to continue my service in the Korean, Busan Mission where I will serve for 18 months.
