Hi I'm Julia Thompson

I love to sing, read, play on swings, and spend time with my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of ten- eight kids and a loving mother and father. It was a little crazy but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm the middle (ish) child - number five - So I've always been part of a large family group, both as the bossy older sibling and the bossed around younger sister. The importance of music has been stressed throughout my life, so I began voice lessons around the age of twelve, and I have grown to love and enjoy the power of music through song. Second only to singing, comes my love for reading and the thirst for knowledge. I began reading at a very early age, and soon developed an active imagination and a tiny brain just full of useless facts, mostly about outer space. I've since taken that love of the cosmos and I have started a major in astrophysics. I am hoping to finish that degree when I return from a full-time mission for the church in the Arkansas, Little Rock Mission. But my biggest dream is to become a wife and a mother and to be sealed for time and all eternity to my spouse. I grew up with the knowledge that families can be forever and I cannot wait to be part of God's eternal plan myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon, but I certainly do not take the gospel for granted. I've chosen to be a member of this church because I know in my heart that Christ lived and that he cares for each and every one of us. I know that I am God's daughter and that he has a plan for me- Both in this life and the next. Through study and prayer I have come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the the only true church on the earth today, and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet, and he holds all the the keys and authority to the fullness of the gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth and by abiding to it and Christ we can be with our Heavenly Father again. I know that Christ suffered for my sins, and felt all my faults and weaknesses. I know he loves me and knows me personally and I will do everything in my power to repay him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through serving, much like the Savior. I have had many opportunities to serve, both in the church and out, and I love to accept them with my whole heart. One of my favorite opportunities was serving in the Primary, teaching the Sunbeams- The children ages three to four. They had such faith in the gospel and a sure knowledge of Christ and his love for them, and I will never forget the spirit that I felt when I taught them each week. I have also had many opportunities to use my love of music to share the message of the gospel by singing in our meetings. Music, when used correctly, can help the Holy Ghost to reach into the hearts of those around you and testify of truth in a way that I can't even begin to explain.
