Hi I'm Miriam

I'm from Las Vegas. I love art, photography, and design. I currently serve in the Texas McAllen mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but, I started to believe in this church when I was about 15. I am now currently 20 and I serve as a full-time missionary in the Texas McAllen mission. I went to high school right in the city of Las Vegas. I attended a preforming and visual arts school. It was there that I was able to discover my passion for Graphic Design and Photography. In my spare time I love to help others, play with my dogs, and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being a Mormon requires you to become your best version of yourself. If I were not a Mormon, I would not disapline myself. I came to know of the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through participating in an activity in the church called "Personal Progress". This requires girls ages 12-18 (and older) to dedicate some of their time to the Lord every day, week, or month in a certain service or act. Many girls start and finish at a young age. I was stubborn at first and I thought that I didn't have time for it, but what that really meant was that I didn't have time for God. That thought made me think about the atoning sacrifice our Savior, Jesus Christ, did for all of mankind. So, if Jesus Christ had time and patience to suffer for the sins of the world, I had time to dedicate some of my life to Him. I started Personal Progress at 15 years old. I finished it when I was 16. Many would say that I rushed through this, but I didn't; I was anxiously engaged in a good cause. I made time for Personal Progress daily and better yet, made time for Jesus Christ daily. Through this program and through Jesus Christ, I have found that my life is much more than what society makes it to be. I was sent to the Earth to help and teach as the Savior did. I am so blessed to have been given the gift of the gospel as a young child. I know this gospel is true, and I am dedicated to becoming the best version of myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my regularly attending church meetings, praying constantly, telling other about the blessings my life has by living the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It's a lot to keep track of, but when I attend all my meetings and I strive to participate in them, I can see my life sort itself out and make time for all the church asks. I try to live my life as the Savior did through His kind acts and selfless sacrifices. I live and love to help all people I come in contact with. I strive to show them that I care through my actions and my words for them.
