Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up rough in Chicago, I'm a Welterweight Boxer, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I had it kind of rough growing up. My grandfather started me on boxing and running when I was 4. I'm currently trying to get into the next Summer Olympic Games. I'm also going to earn a Personal Trainer certification so that I can pass my knowledge onto others in my community.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being apart of His church, because I owe all my success so far to Him. God made me a good athlete and I'm blessed everyday that I get to share what He made me with others, whether they are from my faith or not. After my conversion, I was baptized and confirmed in the church, and not to long after that, my amateur career took off. I love the support I get from my brothers and sisters, because they make me feel like they're behind me 100%.

How I live my faith

I love sharing my testimony and The Gospel with my fellow brothers and sisters in the church. I really like it when I do, because they come up to me and tell me how touched they were by my speech or talks. I hope to one day get a call to serve as a home teacher so I can continue to reach out to others.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The Missionaries helped me even before I became a Mormon. I invited them into my home because it was a tough neighborhood, and they were on their bikes, riding through. They helped me by being my friends, because I didn't have very many people who were actually my friends back then. We remain close even to this day, years after their mission has ended.
