Hi I'm James

Hi, I have a younger sister and brother. I am a hard working student, I love life, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three siblings. I have been an Eagle Scout since December 2008. I have finished my General Associates of Arts degree on May 24, 2013, and I am currently serving a mission in Fortaleza, Brazil Portuguese speaking. I am very happy that I was able to finish two years of college before I went on my mission. I live in Florida and that will probably never change. I can play sports and I can talk about sports, but I am not a huge fan of any kind of sport. However, I do like to spend a lot of my free time doing anything outdoors. I pretty much enjoy anything including, but not limited to, four wheeling, swimming, landscaping, science, math, really anything. Although I do love some more of the crazy more life risking activities like, sky-diving, base jumping, bungee jumping, and whatever else that would get the adrenaline pumping. I love the beach and will eventually live on it. I plan on going through college with a focus on Biology, more specifically along the lines of Genetics or Microbiology. I love my family and the friends that I have, and throughly enjoy getting to meet and to know new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as I attended meetings on Sundays and youth meeting during the week, I grew in knowledge of Christ and His life and His example for us. I became aware that I knew certain things were true, but some things I still needed to gain a testimony of. I then realized that my whole life on Earth is about gaining more testimony of things so I can know for myself that these things are true. I love the gospel and I know this church is true. I am very excited to share this great news with others throughout the world.

How I live my faith

I help the Boy Scouts by going with them on their camp outs, hikes, cycling, or whatever. I have taught the 10-12 year old Sunday School Class for a while now and I am currently trying to work more with our church missionaries here in my home area. I have worked with Toys for Tots over the years at Christmas time to help collect toys and necessary items for children in need. I am an Eagle Scout and for my Eagle project I built and installed bat houses in one of the many parks we have here in Florida. I have done volunteer work to dig up invasive plants in another park and I enjoy attending my home church as well as the Single Young Adults meetings and activities. I work as a part-time tutor on the college campus I attend. I help people mostly with math problems. This has also come in handy at home with some of my skills being put to use to teach my siblings math, history, and biology as well.
