Hi I'm Sierra

I grew up in St.George. I am planning on studying medicine. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Sierra. I love to workout. I started running with my dad in the sixth grade. In high school 9-12th grade I ran competitively in Cross Country and Track. My senior year of track me and my dad started implementing CrossFit into our workout schedule. I just love working out whether it be running, lifting weights, or just being physically active outdoors. I also love designing and sewing clothing. When I was 8 years old I went to a yard sale and bought fabric. I then went to our next door neighbor, an elderly lady from Germany, and asked her to be my friend/teacher. I spent most everyday at her house sewing while we watched TV or while she gardened. Her rule for me was that I needed to learn to sew everything by hand before I was allowed to use the sewing machine. Looking back, I believe it was because at that age I probably couldn't reach the sewing pedal. Aside from my hobbies I graduated High School in May 2011. I have been attending College for nearly 3 years. One of those 3 years I was still in High School. I plan on studying Medicine and becoming and DO, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I love studying and constantly learning. Maybe then, that is a hobby too? I love helping people. I can wait to embark on that Journey. I know in my endeavors the savior will always be at my side.

Why I am a Mormon

I have often been asked why I am Mormon. As I have thought about this and the millions of answers I could respond with it has come down to this - because I know it is true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if it was true. My Heavenly Father answered my prayer by sending the Holy Ghost to touch my heart and to tell my heart that it is true. I received a simple answer from the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. I continue to follow the gospel because it brings me happiness and hope. I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know that after I have done all I can do that his Mercy and grace will save me. I know that Jesus Christ wants me to be happy and that this is His gospel has been restored to the Earth again in this last dispensation and that he gives it to us His gospel so we can be happy. This happiness comes from faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, enduring to then end and so much more. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for me I can be forgiven again and again. And because of His atonement He enables me to become better than I could be on my own. I continue to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know that through righteous living I can be together with my family through time and all eternity. I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I receive pure joy from it. I know that it is true and that it is filled with beautiful blessings and happiness. I know that there is Heavenly Father who knows my name and knows me. I know he sent his son Jesus Christ for me. I know my Heavenly Father and I know my savior Jesus Christ and I know that this is His gospel. I know it. That is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with my whole heart because I know it is true. In the church we are often given callings to help serve others and serve in the church. Most of my callings have been working with the youth. I have gotten to speak with them, be there friend and a leader quite a bit and they have been my favorite callings. I have also had the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. Visiting teaching is a calling everybody receives. I was assigned to visit at least once a month with 4 ladies in the church. I had a companion who also went with me to visit those 4 ladies. The way I look at visiting teaching is that Heavenly Father needs our help to serve and love his children and visiting teaching is the best way to serve His children. Many of the sisters I visited were not active in the church but I visit them and I love them and they are my friends and I try to love them and serve them as they Savior would do if He was on the Earth today. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me the greatest joy and it allows me and teaches me joy, and service and so many more things.
