Hi I'm Jackie

I grew up in Texas. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love sharing the Gospel because of the joy that it brings to people's lives. I'm serving in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission, and serve in the Spanish speaking community. I attended college for a year and a half and am currently a biology major. I enjoy anything music related, and especially love singing. I participated in the Women's Chorus at my school for a year, and hope to continue that when I return from my mission. I really love family history, and have enjoyed finding out information about my ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church, but I never felt forced into it. I loved being Mormon growing up. It was sometimes hard when I had to follow rules that some of my friends didn't have, or when my peers were doing something that looked fun but I knew was wrong, but instead of feeling bitter, I was able to see the blessings that came from obedience. By following the guidance I was given by being Mormon, I was protected from consequences that would have followed poor decisions I may have chosen without it. As I got older and moved away from home, my belief in the Church was strengthened and I knew it was true. My testimony of Christ as my Savior became stronger because of that as well. Knowing what I know, it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to choose not to live His gospel and follow Him.

How I live my faith

I attend my church activities regularly and participate in my ward. I do my best to fulfill the callings that I'm given. I taught the 8-year-old class for a while, was pianist for a few different classes, and helped to organize compassionate service in one of my wards. Supporting other members of the church through service and friendship is also important for me to live my faith.
