Hi I'm Kenneth Adair

I'm a Mormon, a gamer, a university student, and a hotel bellman.

About Me

I am a gamer! I'm a big fan of the Xbox 360 and PC gaming! I keep switching which games I play but right now I'm a huge fan of League of Legends, Planetside 2, Call of Duty, Halo, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Torchlight 2, and anything that goes on sale on Steam. I'm pretty terrible at most games but I have a good time! I've been gaming since Super Mario for the Super Nintendo so honestly I've been gaming way too long! I am a university student going into computer science. I attend school full-time and I really hope I can get a good job someday! I work at a Best Western hotel as a bellman. I've been working at Best Western for about 2 years now. I started off as a Night Auditor and Front Desk Agent but I got moved to the Bellman department. As a Bellman I do awesome things such taking out the garbage, cleaning up the pool, shuttling people to restaurants and the airport, and help people with their bags. I've enjoyed my job.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon but I took it for granted. When I was 17 I started researching various religions such as Protestant Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. I was impressed with the teachings of these faiths. After researching these faiths I realized I had never researched my own religion to the same extent that I was researching other faiths. I had read the Bible cover to cover, portions of the Quran, and a guide to Zen Buddhism but I still hadn't read the Book of Mormon thoroughly yet! I started reading the Book of Mormon and in particular I was deeply touched by 2 Nephi 2. 2 Nephi 2 is a chapter that talks about Adam and Eve and the necessity of the Savior Jesus Christ to perform a sacrifice so that God's children could have grace. I loved the doctrine of grace after reading the New Testament but I had difficulty understanding the deep teachings of the Apostle Paul. 2 Nephi 2 helped me to understand the necessity of grace in our lives. 2 Nephi 2 helped me understand that because we are all mortal and sin that Jesus Christ's grace was absolutely necessary so that mankind could be resurrected and forgiven for our sins. I am grateful for the Savior Jesus Christ and I know that He performed the Atonement to save all mankind!

How I live my faith

I love church! I attend a Singles congregation/church on Sundays. The people at my congregation are awesome and we learn a lot about the scriptures and Jesus Christ while having fun. I personally love the lessons because frequently the goal is to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ in a way that will help us immediately and in our day-to-day lives. I did a 2-year mission trip to Fortworth Texas from 2008-2010. I met a ton of awesome people and helped a bunch of people learn more about Jesus Christ. My favorite part of my mission was meeting people who wanted to be baptized and commit their lives to following the teachings of Jesus Christ! I also continue to learn as much as I can! I love my faith because it encourages me to learn more about Jesus Christ AND science! My faith has helped me learn that true doctrine will never contradict proven science. "Our religion is not hostile to real science. That which is demonstrated, we accept with joy; but vain philosophy, human theory and mere speculations of men, we do not accept nor do we adopt anything contrary to divine revelation or to good common sense." -First Presidency, 1910. My faith also encourages me to continue reading scripture such as the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. I love being part of a faith that embraces all truth from a variety of sources!

Are Mormons Christians?

Kenneth Adair
Are Mormons Christians? Absolutely! Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Messiah, Son of God, the prophesied Chosen One of the Old Testament, and the Jehovah. Mormons also believe that the Bible is the word of God and teach out of the Bible constantly. Every time we have a General Conference(A huge meeting where Prophets and Apostles talk to everyone, my friends of other faiths reference General Conference as the "Mormon Superbowl") the Bible is quoted from HUNDREDS of times. Mormons view the Book of Mormon as another Testament of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains Jesus Christ's teachings to the people of America. Show more Show less
