Hi I'm Caylor Mathews

Hi my name is Caylor Mathews I am from Parowan Utah which is a pretty small town in Southern Utah. I'm LDS.

About Me

Hi, my name is Caylor. I grew up on a small town in Southern Utah. I am the oldest in a family of four children. I have three younger sisters. I have finished a semester of college at Southern Utah University. In high school I played football, basketball, and soccer. My interests include sports, hunting and pretty much anything that I can spend quality time with family and friends. I am currently seeking my under graduate at Southern Utah University in Exercise Science, and plan to join the Air Force as a Combat Rescue Officer once I obtain my degree.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am Mormon is plain and simple, and that reason is that I know in my heart that this church is true, I know that the principles taught in this church are inspired by God and are conveyed through a modern day Prophet. I know in my heart that every word in the Book of Mormon is true and gives us the knowledge we need to return with our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through carrying out specific tasks and assignments that have been asked of me by my local church leaders. However, living as a Mormon is a lifestyle as well. I try my best be an honest and faithful employee and student. My sexual relationship is only between me and my spouse. I do my best to provide service to those around me by helping those in need and paying tithing that helps those who need financial help and even humanitarian aid. I do my best to eat healthy and exercise on a consistant basis and avoid putting substances into my body that are unhealthy, harmful, or addictive. I pray to God every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed and multiple times throughout the day. I do my best to study the Bible and The Book of Mormon daily to remind myself of the promises I made to God when I was baptized which was to keep the commandments so that the Holy Ghost may be with me to guide me in my life. I try my best to forgive others who may have wronged me because God has asked us to forgive those that hurt us and to love everyone. I often do my best to remind myself "What would Jesus do" so that I can help others and make better decisions for myself. I live this way because I have felt a closeness to God that I didn't have before previous to implementing these things I have mentioned in my life. I also live this way because I want to be with God and my family when I die, also I do these things simply because God asked us to. When I fall short of the things God asked has asked each of us to do I turn to Our Savior, Jesus Christ and ask for His forgiveness and help and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I know that I can overcome and Sin, Temptation, or Trial in my life.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Caylor Mathews
When a LDS person or Mormon talks about their "testimony" they are talking about how through a spiritual witness which is the Holy Ghost that they know in their heart that they know the LDS church is true. When they bare their testimony this means they are telling through their own personal experiences how they learned a principle or principles of the church and why they are true. A testimony is gained through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost expresses truth to us in many different ways but it always tells the truth to everyone who is willing to listen. Show more Show less
