Hi I'm Megan

I have a passion for music. I love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love music. I sing and taught myself to play piano, for the most part. Currently, I'm a pre-music major, with a year at BYU-Provo completed. I'm working part-time, living at home, saving up for my mission in May. I have two older brothers and a little sister that I love a lot. My mom is one of my best friends and my dad has set the bar high for my future husband. Playing games with my family is one of my favorite things to do, as well as reading, playing piano, and hanging out with friends. I love life and I'm incredibly excited for my future.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was born into this church and my dad was converted at 14. So I was born into this church as well, but that doesn't mean I haven't been converted. I technically grew up with a knowledge of the gospel, went to church every Sunday, and participated in Family Home Evenings. I still experienced a conversion process. I had to decide for myself that this church is true. I moved a lot when I was younger, so I had to decide at a fairly young age that I was going to live the principles of the Gospel, despite the fact that practically none of my friends or classmates did. One of my brothers is inactive, which made it even harder, in some ways, to continue to have a testimony of this Gospel. But I do. I know this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for us. I know that He is the Savior of the world and that He atoned for our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to reestablish Christ's church on the earth in this dispensation. He translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. The Book of Mormon is true. It is God's word, not only to Lehi's descendants, but also to us today. I know that this Gospel brings me more joy than anything else in the world. It has the answers to all of my questions and makes me excited about life. I don't dread growing older and gaining the responsibilities of adulthood. I'm excited to get married, to settle down, to start a family. I know that no matter what trials I face, they come from God and He won't test me more than I can handle. Jesus Christ suffered the Atonement so that He could succor us. He knows how to best comfort us individually in every situation we experience. I can't imagine life without the Gospel and all the blessings it brings, and that is why I will be dedicating 18 months of my life to God to serve Him and His children. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in church through my calling. I'm the compassionate service leader, which means I get to help coordinate service efforts for those in need in my ward. I love having a calling and feeling a sense of purpose, and I love to serve others. I live my faith by doing things like reading the scriptures, praying, and keeping my standards, as well. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is more than just a weekly meeting in a church. It's a lifestyle. It's who I am and I live it every day.
