Hi I'm Steven

I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada. I play all sorts of music. I'm a college student at BYU, Provo. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In school I'm interested in most of the sciences, particularly phsyics and biology. I hope to pursue biomedical engineering or to become a doctor. I really enjoy playing music, helping others, and cooking great food. I can also solve a Rubik's cube in less than 30 seconds.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church, hence, I've always had a more spiritual view of life. As a child, its really easy to believe what you've been told without questions. As I grew up, I really wanted to know more about the church for myself, especially about our relationship with God. It has always fascinated me learning about God's Plan for me. I've come to know for myself that God truly does know and love me as an individual. This knowledge is the primary reason that I continue in the LDS faith. In my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to study metaphysics; basically it is the philosphy of religion. We explored the supports for God existing and not existing, but the most interesting part was the speakers. Classmates volunteered to bring in guest speakers to address the fundamentals of their specific religion. In each presentation I looked for this relationship with God, and it seemed that no other faith gave the same answer. I find peace and joy in knowing that God loves all of us individually, no matter what we do or the things we believe in.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through more personal activities throughout my day such as prayer and scripture study. I read the Book of Mormon and try to live by its teachings each day. I attend my church meetings and college and I serve as a pianist and Family Home Evening (FHE) group leader. As an FHE group leader, I am in charge of organizing spiritual thoughts and fun activities for my group on Monday evenings. This is normally done with families in the home, but as a college students this is our substitute family away from home. Its a blast getting to know my "family" members and being able to serve them.
