Hi I'm Cassidy

I'm from Connecticut and I love the east coast. I love volleyball. I'm a student at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU. I am currently studying chemistry, and I am preparing to serve a mission to São Paulo, Brazil. I love kittens, my family fosters cats and kittens for an animal shelter near our home. I like playing and watching sports, my favorites are volleyball and football. I love singing, but I'm too shy to sing in front of crowds. I love the gospel and I am so excited for the opportunity to share it with the people of Brazil.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because every time I go to church, or I read my scriptures, or I pray to my Father in Heaven, I can feel the truth of the gospel, and I can feel the love of our Savior. I have a knowledge of the Restoration, and I know that Joseph Smith was inspired by God to lay the foundations for this Church. I have visited the Sacred Grove, and I know that God and Jesus Christ appeared to 14 year old Joseph, as an answer to his prayers. When I pray I feel the presence of God and Christ supporting me through my trials and strengthening me when I am weak. I will never be able to repay the Savior for the infinite atonement he has given for us, but I do my best by living the commandments, and striving to be the best I can as I serve, teach, and learn.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures and praying earnestly every day, and by sharing my insights with others.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Simply put, prayer. Sincere prayer and faith are required to receive the witness of the truth of the Gospel. I know if you pray to your Heavenly Father about things you have learned, he will help you to understand the truth. His answer may not come immediately, and it may come as promptings or inspirations, so you have to keep an open heart if you want to be able to feel the Spirit testify of the truth. If you are having trouble feeling the Spirit, you might focus on living God's commandments, so you can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost. If you experience feelings of peace, hope, comfort, and happiness as you are learning about the gospel, the Holy Ghost is already witnessing to you of the truth of these things. Show more Show less
