Hi I'm Aley Davis

I am a journalist, a twin, a beach bum, a naturopathic enthusiast and I am a mormon.

About Me

As a student in the broadcast journalism program at BYU, Aley thrives on meeting new people, learning what makes them jive and capturing it through photo and video. On a happy day, Aley is caught eating a Wahoo’s fish taco with a gnarly burn and sandy car, or clearing the furniture in the living room to pretend she is on So You Think You Can Dance. Aley was born 126 minutes before her twin brother, Christian, and finds any excuse to remind him of it. Between her California roots and church mission in San Antonio, Texas, she suffers from big state loyalty issues. She dreams of one day hosting her own cooking show and finding the cure to snoring.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me happiness. I am never happier than when I am truly living the principles taught in the Gospel. I was blessed to grow up in a home where the Gospel was the center of our lives, and through the obedient and righteous example of my parents and the sweet spirit of the Gospel in my home, I was able to come to a knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel and Christ's teachings. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each one of us. I know that he plays an active role in each of our lives daily and ultimately wants us to return to live with him once we have gained knowledge and experience on this earth. Since he loves us so greatly, he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to this earth to die for us on behalf of our sins. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I know that we will be made perfect one day and we will be able to return to live with God again! How cool is that?! I am so grateful for this knowledge and the peace and motivation it provides in my life each day as I wake up!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by relying on the Lord daily. I know I inevitably will make mistakes everyday, but as I reflect on how I can improve through the Savior Jesus Christ I know I can grow and become more like my Father in heaven. As I remember the covenants I've made and try to honor the basic gospel principles, I know I will be guided and find ultimate happiness. I strive to attend my church meetings, serve the Lord in my calling, find opportunities to serve others, and worship through my personal studies.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Aley Davis
I know that each and every one of us are literally Heavenly Father's children. I know that I am a daughter of a God! Since we are His children, he has such great love for us and wants us to become like him. He sent us to this earth so that we could endure different trials and challenges and gain experience. I consider this such a remarkable opportunity! I am so grateful that God loves us enough to give us this opportunity. I know that if we are faithful to our covenants and obedient to His word, we can inherit all that He has. I know that He will be there for us in this life every step of the way because He loves us just as my daddy loves me. Show more Show less
