Hi I'm Tom

I am currently serving in the Taiwan Taipei Mission. I love the gospel! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am just an ordinary, free and fun-loving guy. I enjoy a variety of things from hiking outdoors, four-wheeler riding, mountain biking, running, football, reading, writing, and just relaxing in the sun. One of my favorite hobbies is to restore old vehicles with my dad. We currently have a 1956 Ford Fairlane and a 1966 Mustang Coup we are working on. I have only just started my college career and am looking to get into medial school eventually.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raised in this gospel my entire life. But for me it wasn't until i was about 13 or 14 years old when I truly decided to step and and really read and ponder the Book of Mormon. I spent months reading them daily and praying to my Heavenly Father to help give me my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Day by day I was able to feel the Holy Ghost testify of the words I read and studied in the Book of Mormon. And day by day I came to love and live the Gospel as I never had before. I know that this is the true Gospel. We have a loving Heavenly Father who knows each and everyone of us individually and loves us more than we can comprehend. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He took upon us all of our sins, sorrows, and sufferings and died upon the cross so that we could feel peace and joy in our lives as we turn to Him to atone for our sins. That we can one day join Him and our Heavenly Father in heaven. I know that families can be together forever and what a blessing it is to me. I know that whatever happens and no matter how far apart my family is, we can all be together for eternity as we keep the commandments and follow the teachings of Christ. I have come to know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true scripture, written and given unto us for this day and age. I know that Joseph Smith really was a prophet called of God to restore His Church in these latter days. This Gospel is so wonderful and filled with joy and hope. Everything about it shows why I am a Mormon, why I love to be a Mormon, and why I will always be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my neighborhood. I have recently just left our youth organization in my ward. There I helped participate and create many service projects in my neighborhood, from helping out the local police and fire departments to tearing down old trees in neighbors yards.I have been a leader in our Sunday school classes and have even served on my high school seminary student council. I enjoy doing everything I can to help instruct and lift up those around me and bring them closer to Christ. I go around hometeaching a family once a month to get to know them better and serve them if they need anything. I have recently been called to serve a two year mission in Taipei Taiwan, where I will help serve the people there and invite them to come and learn of the gospel.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

We believe eternal life is one of the greatest gifts that God wants to give to us. He simply asks that we follow the example of His Son, Jesus Christ, obey His commandments and go about doing good. As we diligently strive to do these things and lift others up we begin to change and become more like our Loving Heavenly Father. As we endure the trials and challenges of this life by living according to the standards He gives, we receive His promise to obtain eternal life. Which means we are able to live forever, in a perfect state, with our Heavenly Father and our family. Eternal life is the life of God and is where we can live forever with our loved ones in a state of the greatest joy, happiness, hope and life. Because we all have agency if we choose not to follow Christ and God's commandments we can still live forever but miss out on living with God. Living in His presence with our families is what will bring us the greatest joy possible and is what we all hope to obtain through eternal life. Show more Show less
