Hi I'm Becca Hurley

I earn my living as a professional clown. One day I'll earn my black belt. I love to compose music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a big sister, a clown, a musician, a Mark Twain fan, and an avid lover of chocolate. My family and I earn our living by running an entertainment company, which specializes in children's comedy. That's the clowning. :) I put myself through college at Brigham Young University by going to birthday parties, being silly, and making balloon sculptures for kids. It's the best! I feel really blessed to be able to support myself with work that involves so many giggles.

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of reasons why I am a Mormon, but the biggest one is happiness. Through personal prayer, scripture study, and doing my best to follow Jesus Christ's example, I have found a peace that nothing else could match. By knowing where I came from and where I'm going, I don't have to be afraid of death. Instead I can enjoy the life I am living, even when it is difficult, because I know what I'm working for. By understanding Christ's Atonement, my own failures do not have the power to discourage me, because I know that He loves me unconditionally and will help me overcome my weaknesses. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly Jesus Christ's church, and that He leads it today through modern prophets and apostles.

How I live my faith

Jesus taught that the Two Great Commandments are first, to love God our Heavenly Father, and second, to love our neighbor. Building and maintaining a relationship with God requires a lot of communication, just like any relationship on earth. Praying can be as simple as mentally giving thanks or repenting throughout the day, and I try to do that as much as possible, but I really look forward to the moments when I can kneel and really talk to Him. For me, that's a morning and night thing, but often, the circumstances require more! No matter where I'm at, He is always listening, always aware of my thoughts and feelings and needs. He always responds to my requests, sooner or later. Jesus said "If ye love me, keep my commandments." In addition to talking to God, I show my love for Him by being obedient. There are certain things God tells us to do once--like be baptized, and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost. These are ordinances necessary for salvation, and they are commandments. Despite being one-time events, however, we spend our whole lives working to keep the covenants we make then.
