Hi I'm Makaley

I am a graduate of Southern Utah University with a Bachelors in General Studies, I'm a traveler, a fun seeker, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a small town girl, and I love spending time with friends and family! I love to go camping and sit around the fire and look at stars all night. I like travelling all over, and have been blessed with the opportunity to do so. I like to go bowling, go see a movie, or even just go to the park and run around with friends. I love meeting new people and trying new things! I love to listen to people talk about their lives and tell their stories, I am a believer that we all have a unique story that should be told. I love photography and finding new ways to be creative with it. I enjoy writing and putting my thoughts onto paper. I recently graduated from Southern Utah University with a Bachelors of General Studies, and I have been called to serve in the Tennessee Nashville Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know, through personal experience, that it is what is right and true. I know that I have a Heavenly Father and Brother/Savior Jesus Christ that love me more than I can imagine. I have been on both sides of the fence throughout my young life. I have seen some of the darkest nights and the brightest days. I can truly feel of the love my Father in Heaven has for me. Through answered prayers and the beautiful spirit I feel, I know that my Heavenly Father knows me individually and that he can hear me and He is listening intently when I talk with him. I know that I have a Savior that died for me, and I know that He knows exactly what I am going through, and He understands the pain that I have endured at times in my life. I believe in an amazing God who loves each of his children and wants nothing more than for all of us to return and live with him through eternity. I grew up in a home where my dad was of no faith, and very against religion in any form. Whereas, my mom is a very faithful Mormon. Throughout my life I have seen the happiness that my mom has that my dad lacks. And up until just a few years ago I did not understand the amazing joy that comes with being a faithful Mormon. There are so many blessings I have received and I am so truly happy! I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words. Through the amazing actions and examples of my friends, I know my Father in Heaven very personally, and because of this, I know a happiness that I would have never known without this beautiful gospel. I am a Mormon because I believe in the doctrine of this gospel. No I do not have it all memorized, and I am still learning each and every day, but every day that I spending even five minutes of my day studying, learning and reading my scriptures, is a day that I feel even closer to my Father in Heaven. I feel his spirit with me whenever I am doing what I should. I love the feeling of the spirit and cannot live my life without it!

How I live my faith

I attend a Young Single Adult (YSA) ward in my college community which is about 20 minutes away from where I am living. I am currently a "Family Home Evening (FHE) Parent", or in other words, I help plan activities for a group of about 15 people in my ward once a week. I take classes at the institute during the week to help me strengthen my testimony and to be able to feel the spirit more strongly throughout the week. I am also the class president in my institute class which provides me the opportunity to serve those around me and become better friends with them.
