Hi I'm Korinne

I am from California. I love tennis, hiking, and anything else outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University. I'm a nursing major, and I love it! Although my schoolwork takes a lot of my time, I also play tennis and soccer and go running as often as I can. I have a weakness for mint and chocolate, especially when they are combined in the form of ice cream. I live with five other wonderful girls in a great apartment. We like watching cheesy movies together and laughing a lot. I'm originally from California, so sometimes I miss my family. Back home are my parents, brother, and grandma. I've been lucky this year to have my sister go to school with me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Savior lives. I know that he only wants what is best for us, which is to return to live with him and Heavenly Father in exaltation. I've grown up in a Mormon home, but that is not why I am a Mormon today. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have received a witness from the Holy Spirit of God that this church is Christ's church on the earth. It teaches of the importance of the atonement of Christ, the plan of salvation, and how family's can be sealed for time and all eternity. I receive such joy whenever I think of what God has in store for me. I know that we can receive revelation as we read the scriptures, pray, and ask questions. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Christ to the earth and that we continue to have prophets on the earth today. Being a Mormon is more than just going to church on Sunday. It is an identity that brings me happiness each day of my life.

How I live my faith

I try to make my faith the central focus of my life. Each morning with my bowl of cereal, I read the Book of Mormon. It is a great way to start out the day. I try to do service for those around me, even if it is just something small. I also try to have an attitude of gratitude. As I examine the world around me, I can truly see God's hand in my life. I also have formal church assignments. I am a compassionate service leader for the ladies in my church group, so I work to find out and fulfill the needs of the sisters. My visiting teaching companion is my roommate, and we really like to visit the sisters in our church group.
