Hi I'm Harriet

I'm a daughter, a sister, a writer, a full time missionary and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 19 years old, and I have been a Mormon my whole life. Up until recently, my life has been pretty normal, I've attended and finished school, I've written a book, I worked as a teaching assistant for a year in a secondary school, and I'll quite often go puddle-jumping with my 5 year old sister in our matching yellow rain coats. However, as of the 23rd of August 2017, I have taken the decision to pause my life for 18 months, and become a full time missionary to teach others about my faith. Where? Germany. ....once I learn German that is...

Why I am a Mormon

At the age of 17 my Mother was approached by two missionaries, who consequently baptised her into the church, where she met my Dad, and eventually had me. I learnt the Gospel from birth, I was taught it's teachings, and as I grew up, I chose myself to stay in the church. I was never 'indoctrinated', never forced against my will, but used my own agency because I knew that where I am was the right place to be. I'm a Mormon, not because my family are, but because I have a feeling that this is the right thing to do. I'm a Mormon because I love my Saviour, because I know there is a God. I'm a Mormon because I believe and love the principles it teaches, about fairness, about the family, about truth. I'm going to learn German, leave my family and friends, and leave the country for a year and a half because I want to share what has blessed my life with others. I am a Mormon because it is true.

How I live my faith

I love my faith! I want to try and apply it to my life as much as possible, and I want to serve a mission because I want other people to be as happy as I am. More obviously, I will be living my faith very openly for the next 18 months, but there are other ways I live my faith too. I try to be an example, I try to be selfless, I try to be kind. Christ is our greatest example, so as long as I'm doing my best to do what He wants me to do, I'd say I'm doing okay.
