Hi I'm Maria

I'm a runner, biker, sewer, snowboarder, cooker, hair styler, and a mom. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a normal girl who didn't grow up dreaming of getting married or of being a Mom(I was much to independent and free spirited!) but here I am, married with 3 children, and I couldn't be happier. I've always been an optimistic person who has tried to live life to the fullest. I love the outdoors and anything athletic, I love to travel, to cook, to listen to music, and to read books to my children. A defining moment for me in my life was three years ago when I lost my younger brother in a caving accident. That was and continues to be a challenge but I look for the Lord's hand in my life everyday and I can't help but see His blessings. Life is a journey and I'm all about enjoying it, despite the ups and downs.

Why I am a Mormon

I've studied the doctrine, including the Book of Mormon, and have received revelation for myself that it is true. Living the gospel alone has been the biggest confirmation for me. When I live it, I am happy and I feel the spirit in my life which brings peace. The gospel has helped me to understand what kind of being God is and what He wants for me as His daughter. I know he doesn't expect me to be perfect, but I hope to one day be perfected in him, and as long as I know I'm trying then I'm happy, and I know He's happy too. I want to live with Him one day and I know that in order to do that then I need to become like Him. It's a gradual process that I find joy and peace in. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and has made it possible for us to return to the Father. I'm thankful for his grace and forgiveness. I know that we are here on earth for an eternal purpose. I know that truth has been restored and that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that the scriptures are true, and that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by waking up everyday wanting to do the will my Heavenly Father. I live my faith by teaching my children the gospel and by teaching them how to pray. I serve in the church by organizing activities for the women and by visiting sisters. I try and study the scriptures and I attend church weekly. My testimony is a part of everything I do everyday and it affect every decision I make.
