Hi I'm Chelsea

I grew up in Idaho. I'm in love with the outdoors. Soon I'll be serving in the Chile Rancagua mission. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Once upon a time, many years ago, I was born of goodly parents who love the Lord in a lovely place called Idaho. I did not grow up on a potato farm, but that didn't stop me from having all sorts of lovely adventures. This past summer I spent working in Yellowstone National Park, a place I would adamantly defend as probably the most beautiful on Earth. Although Teton National Park is a close second. I love the outdoors, and the way that spending time amongst God's creations helps bring me closer to Him. This truly is an amazing world that we've been blessed to live in, and I plan to see as much of it as I possibly can.

Why I am a Mormon

Each person here on Earth is a son or daughter of God, and as such is endowed with a divine nature. Whether or not they know it, God loves them equally as much as He loves me. As I spent the summer working far from home and from all close and known associates, it was important to me to hold true to my standards in the face of adversity. Every Sunday in an outdoor amphitheater, a handful of employees as well as a number of park visitors would meet together to have a church service. One of the most powerful witnesses I've ever experienced of the true and living nature of God and of Christ came one Sunday as the rain poured down on us, and the thunder and lightning roared and flashed overhead. We were forced to take shelter under the amphitheater, and huddle together to avoid the drenching rain. Strangers from all across the globe shared coats with one another, and together we sang above the deafening roar a hymn called "How Great Thou Art." The first verse is written as follows: O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy pow'r thru-out the universe displayed; Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee How great thou art! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee How great thou art! How great thou art!" And with the powerful reminder of God's creations all around us, and as the awesome wonder and power of God was made manifest literally through every sense, there was no doubt that God exists. That He created the Earth for us, that He is a very real part of our everyday lives, He sees us, He hears us, and He knows and loves us. I am a Mormon because I know it to be the only way to true and lasting happiness.

How I live my faith

As a member of this church, I make it my personal goal to "stand as a witness of God, at all times, and in all things, and in all places" (Mosiah 18:9). No matter the circumstance, no matter who I am with, I do not change who I am and what I believe to accommodate the situation. I live my faith through everyday acts of service. Through thanking God daily for helping me make it through each day. Through trying each and every day to live a more Christ-centered life.
