Hi I'm Mark

Weatherman. Camper. Mormon.

About Me

I grew up bouncing across the nation. My dad was in the Air Force, so even though I was born in Eastern Washington, I've lived in Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas, and Tacoma, Washington. I have loved weather and meteorology since I can remember. Because of this I have been featured in the Seattle Times, on KOMO-TV's website, and several other places. I enjoy exploring the wilderness. When I can I go our and hike around either in the desert near where I live, climb major Cascade volcanoes, or go camping. I love swimming in rivers, but in the Pacific Northwest they are quite chilly.

Why I am a Mormon

Wow, this is a weighty question. There are a ton of reasons. I'll start with how happy the Gospel makes me. I don't know where I'd be without it, but I know it would be a lot worse situation. I like being able to know where I came from, why I am alive today, and where I am going. I love having a glimpse of what the future holds, and I hope that everyone can feel the same happiness as I do.

How I live my faith

It's pretty simple really. There is a lot of community service involved. I am currently on a two-year mission for the Church in the Midwest. Prior to this I have helped in preparing for Sunday service and assisted church members in cleaning up after natural disasters. Praying is a huge part of our religion. I love the fact that I am able to talk to God as if he were here.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

The Church has this brilliant thing online at - maps.lds.org - that you type in your address and it'll show you how to get to the nearest church building. It that is a little bit too much for you, try talking to the missionaries or asking around. There are millions of members around the world. Show more Show less
