Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in sunny California. I love a good adventure. I'm a proud aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was blessed with a wonderful family. I am the youngest of four girls. Our house was crazy growing up. We were always off at soccer tournaments, cheerleading practice, piano lessons, softball games, swimming tournaments, you name it, we tried it. I love to be busy and I love to be on the move! I am a physical education teacher with an immense gratitude for the working body that a loving Heavenly Father has given us all. I am a current graduate school student with a goal to help students learning English as a second language and their families adapt to life in America.

Why I am a Mormon

Have you ever wondered why you are here? I have. The world tells me one thing but I felt like there is something more. Fortunately, I was blessed to come to know the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, which provided me with the answers to life's biggest questions. I am a Mormon because it helps me understand where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I learned that I have a Heavenly Father who knows my name and hears my prayers. I have come to know my older brother, Jesus Christ. I understand that if I follow His example, I can be forgiven of my past and turn a new page. It is Christ whom I believe in and follow. My purpose in life is more clear and I have eternal goals. I strive to return to live with my Father in Heaven and my family forever. I love being a Mormon. It has blessed my life, my family, and will continue to bless my future family.

How I live my faith

Every day there are billions of prayers that our Heavenly Father hears. Every day there are billions of His children crying out for help. Every day the Lord uses us to answer these prayers. I live my faith by simply trying to be wherever the Lord needs me to be. As a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I was able to see how the Lord places those that are willing to serve in the right places at the right time. Now, as a daughter, sister, friend, member missionary, teacher, neighbor, and sports enthusiast, I know that if we have an open heart and a desire to serve, the Lord gives us his eyes and allows us to be his hands. What a privilege!

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jesus Christ is the head of his church. When he walked the earth during his mortal life, he organized his church and taught his gospel. He called and set-apart 12 apostles, giving them the priesthood authority to continue to act in His name after he was resurrected. They preached and served the Jews. When the people rejected Christ and His apostles, our Heavenly Father withdrew His authority from the earth and the organization that Christ Himself established was lost because the world was not prepared to receive it. Years later, when the Lord found that the time was right, God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ reached out a loving hand to call another prophet in order to restore Christ's church, the same church that once existed, again on the earth. That prophet was Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was ordained and given the very same priesthood power that Christ gave to his original apostles. Christ used Smith as an instrument in His hands to restore His gospel, His priesthood, and His organization again on the earth to bring about our salvation. Christ is the founder and head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less
