Hi I'm Larry

I grew up in Southern California. I'm a convert to the Gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married with four children. I was in the Navy. I enjoy all sports. Cycling is my main source of exercise and enjoyment. I enjoy hanging out with friends and family. I work as a Medical Physicist.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church many years ago. Several of the kids I went to High School with were Mormon. There was always something different and nice about them. They befriended me and I enjoyed being around them. There was such a nice way about them. I grew up in a Presbyterian church and had a great experience there has a youth. When I got older, I wanted to know if what I was taught as a child was correct and if there was more. A good friend of mine, who was Mormon, taught me about his Church and about how what I new of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ already was mostly correct, but there was more to it. He taught me and I prayed to know the truthfulness of what he had taught me and what I had read in the Book of Mormon. I knew it was true in my heart. The Spirit had testified to me of that. A few years later, I took the discussions from Church missionaries and the Spirit again confirmed to me the truthfulness of what I had been taught and read. I was baptized and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, by the laying on of hands, and I had never felt anything like it in my life. It reaffirmed what I already knew to be true. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I believe that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I believe if I live the principles of the Gospel, I will draw nearer to my Heavenly Father and become more Christlike. I love my Savior and am striving to be more like him. This Gospel has changed my life for the better and it can for anyone who will live the principles of the Gospel. I know my Father in Heaven loves me and desires all his children to be happy. I am grateful for this Gospel and all the happiness it brings into my life. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I love the interaction the Church provides. I enjoy serving others and trying to have a positive impact in the lives of members. I have been fortunate to frequently work with the youth of the Church and share in helping them develop their own testimonies of the Gospel. Working with the youth has helped keep a youth enthusiasm in my life. It's fun just to around them and laugh a lot. I have recently been called to serve in a larger leadership role in our Ward and look forward to strengthening the bonds with all the members of our Ward.
