Hi I'm Alyssa Clark

I'm a student, a twin, and optimist. And I'm a Mormon (:

About Me

I LOVE life, and being happy (: My favorite scripture is, 2 Nephi 5:27 (Book of Mormon) "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." If it brings true and lasting happiness, then I'm on board! I enjoy being active and trying new things in life. I graduated from a trade school for massage therapy, and am looking forward to gaining more education! I love the natural side of things, and I find the human body to be very fascinating. I grew up moving around quite often, but consider home to be Oklahoma. I have a dream of seeing as much of the world as I possibly can. I love the color yellow. My family life has helped shape who I am today. My parents are great. I have 4 awesome brothers and an amazing twin sister. They've always made life more of an adventure! I enjoy being around other people, and try to find the good in every situation. Also, I LOVE being a Mormon! That's why I'm so happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I had to make an important decision in my life. I didn't grow up always believing. I had my own doubts, and questions but when I moved out for school, I realized that I needed to figure out what I was going to do in life, who I was going to decide to be, what I wanted to make of myself, and most importantly, what God wanted to make of me. I couldn't have figured those things out without my Savior, Jesus Christ. As I read the Book of Mormon for the first time all the way through, I had a peaceful assurance that this is Christ's church once again established on the earth. I'm a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and everything that is taught in the Gospel of Jesus Christ just makes so much sense. It's plain and precious, and as I pray everyday, my faith and testimony are strengthened. I can feel God's love for those that I get to serve. I know more and more each day that I am exactly where my Father in Heaven wants me to be. There is nothing else in life that has ever brought me so much peace and joy as being a member of the church, and sharing it with others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments of God, and being an example to those around me. I served as a full time missionary in the Alabama Birmingham Mission for 18 months! It brings me so much joy to share my knowledge of Christ and His church with others. Currently, I teach a class of women about different principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I seek for opportunities to serve wherever needed, and ways to help others find happiness. 3 Nephi 5:13 "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." There's no better way to live my faith than to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Alyssa Clark
In order to increase our faith in Jesus Christ, we need to go back to the basics. 1.) Have a desire to learn 2.) Study your scriptures 3.) Ask Questions (to God and other church leaders) 4.) Go to church 5.) Pray - You need God's help in everything you do. 6.) Serve others - Do as Christ did. As you do these things, your faith will grow, and you can learn/know more for yourself. If you make the effort, God will help you. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Alyssa Clark
God is the only one who can confirm what's true and what's not. A prophet, Moroni, in the Book of Mormon said, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." (Moroni 10:4-5) If you sincerely study the book of Mormon, keep the Lord's commandments, and then ASK IN PRAYER if what you're learning is true, then you will receive your answer. It will come as you are listening for it by paying attention to your thoughts and feelings. That's how the Holy Ghost will often speak to us. You may have feelings of comfort, peace, and happiness. That is the Holy Ghost speaking/testifying to you of the truth you are receiving. Be willing to act on the answers that you receive. Show more Show less
