Hi I'm Cody Hilyard

I'm a missionary in the Provo MTC preparing for Australia, I love serving the Lord, and I have an awesome family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest child out of a family of four and I was born in California but moved to Utah. Soon I will be heading to Brisbane Australia to continue serving the Lord night and day. Learning a new language is very humbling but I love learning to rely on our Father in Heaven because there is no way I could do this without Him. Friends are a huge part of my life. I have been lucky enough to have a great group of friends my entire life. I have countless friends on missions and they were a huge influence for me to continue getting ready to serve. Before we hit the mission age, we always went skiing, snowboarding, golfing, playing tennis, eating lunch, going on adventures, and playing FIFA! I love to go boating with my family. Even though wakeboarding is really fun, wake surfing has got to be my favorite. For one, it doesn't hurt as bad when you fall!

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and I know He loves each of us enough to watch over us. That is why He sent His son, Jesus Christ, as part of His plan. I have a firm testimony of this and I know it because I constantly feel His presence. I have to turn to Him daily since I'm always having struggles, and our Heavenly Father can strengthen those weaknesses if we simply ask. I love praying each day and I know our Heavenly Father receives our prayers. There have been times when I have felt an answer right away and also times when it took some time for me to be ready to receive that answer. It is not immediate every time because God knows when I am ready and when I need it. I am a Mormon because I love the knowledge I have of this life and for the blessings I receive from it.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The effects it has had on me already have been huge. Besides being a missionary, I do my best to live my faith by being the best friend I can to anyone I meet. As it says in Mosiah 2:17, when we are in the service of others, we are in the service of our God. I know that to be true and it is an influence for me! Doing little acts of service can be fun anyway.
