Hi I'm Alex Smith

I'm 20 years old. I grew up in Gardnerville, Nevada. I'm an online artist/writer who's out on a mission. & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a little community called Gardneville, Nevada. I have always loved creating art. My mom's a member, but my dad isn't, but he is very kind and supportive. I guess He's a Mormon by spirit, but not by word. I was born with a birth defect called Bi-lateral clubbed feet. Even though my feet are malformed, I am one of the tallest members of my entire family, my older brother being the only one that is taller than myself. I went to Western Nevada College for a couple of years trying to obtain an Associates Degree in General Business. I am currently on my mission in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission centered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before I came out on my mission, my hobbies included biking, swimming, reading, drawing art, writing literature, and playing video games as well as watching videos. Most of my art and quite of few of my writings are up on dragonguilders.deviantart.com.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I have been young, I have been plagued with speech impediments, slight motor skill impediments, and of course my bi-lateral clubbed feet. Because looked differently from most other people, I was teased from late elementary school all the way through middle school. I have also had temptations thrown at me throughout all stations of my life. Even though I was one of the few Mormons my age that went to public schooling, I found lots of good friends that helped me get through my trials. After middleschool, the teasing ceased and my circle of friends grew. My faith had been unwavering and the Lord blessed me, and he gave me comfort that this was but a short time of my life.

How I live my faith

On my mission, I work on genealogy and family history. However, my want to go on a mission was ever since my older Brother went to the London England South Mission about 12 years ago. I have worked as a boy scout through the church program from when I was in the Tiger Cubs all the way until I graduated High School in 2010. After Graduation I was called to be an instructor and also as a ward missionary (a person that helps bring back those who are inactive and help the full time missionaries with their works). Now I am currently on my mission, and I work on genealogy and family history in Salt Lake City in the Temple Square area. However, my want to go on a mission was ever since my older Brother went to the London England South Mission about 12 years ago and it has only grown stronger through my years.
