Hi I'm Jason

I grew up in White Rock, BC. I love nature and science. I teach High School Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with a love of science and nature, fostered by a healthy curiosity. I got my BSc in Chemistry and Computer Science, then went and became a High School science teacher. I spent a year teaching English to kids in Korea. I got married in 2011, and as of Sept 2012 my wife and I have a beautiful baby girl named Claire. I love to go camping in the summer, and I spend a lot of my time reading fantasy novels and playing fantasy computer games. I spend most of my spare time, however, playing with Claire.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church of Jesus Christ because I know it has the fullness of the Gospel. Modern Revelation from Christ is what leads and guides His Church now in these Last Days. I didn't always know this. Despite growing up in the Church my whole life, I had my doubts about whether it was Jesus' Church. I knew the Church was good and logical, but I didn't know if it was True. When I was 19 I finally decided that I needed to know for sure that it was the Christ's Church. After some intense reading and praying, with some fasting as well, I finally received confirmation from the Holy Ghost that this is God's Church on the Earth today. I know that I know it, and I know that God knows that I know it. Throughout the intervening years, I have gained a stronger understanding of the love of Jesus Christ and have seen his influence and the blessing that come from obedience to the principles of the Gospel in my life. I love Jesus Christ and continue to see His love in my life, and the life of my family.

How I live my faith

My beliefs drive me and influence all my decisions, even on a day-to-day basis. Helping others to lead happier lives is one reason why I became a teacher, to try and be an example to others of how the gospel of Jesus Christ can enhance our lives. My current assignment in the church is to help everyone share their joy of the scriptures and Jesus with those around them. I work to organize activities that everyone can come to and invite others to that will help them grow closer together and closer to Christ. I also have several families that our Bishop has asked me to always make sure they have what they need, both spiritually and temporally.
