Hi I'm Caleb

I'm 22 years old, I love sports, and music, I'm a full time missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Caleb, I have lived in the Salt Lake City area for my whole life. I come from a big family, I am the fifth out of nine kids. I'm the kind of person that likes to stay active. I enjoy playing basketball, long-boarding, and most anything that will get me out of the house. Another huge part of my life is music. I think I would be lost without it. I don't consider myself an expert, but I love to play the guitar! Even though I'm not very good, I love to sing, whether it be singing along with songs on my iPod, or singing hymns at church. I have a pretty small group of friends, but it's great. We all get along so well, and do tons of stuff together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church all my life. In some ways I think that made me take the church for granted. Recently there was a time in my life where I fell completely away from the church. I thought, now that I'm on my own, and away from my parents I could do whatever I wanted. I went a few months doing things that aren't in harmony with Mormon standards. Sure, it was fun for a while. But things soon started to weigh on me, and I felt trapped. Nothing brought me happiness anymore. That's when I decided I needed to change some things in my life. I started going back to church, and repenting for the things I had done. For the first time in my life I could honestly say I was happy. See 2nd Nephi chapter 2 verse 27. None of this would have been possible without the help of the Saviors Atonement. I brought the biggest, and most meaningful change to my life. I'm still not perfect, but I try my hardest to do what is right every day. I have gained a stronger testimony through all my experiances. I know God lives, and knows us individually. He know's whats best for us, and wants us to have everything He has. I know the Book of Mormon to be the true word of God. I know that Joseph smith was a true prophet. I know he restored the only true church back to this earth, and translated the Book of Mormon through the inspiration of God. I know that praying to God can really help us through anything. Lastly, I have felt the power of Christ's Atonement in my life, and know it can do the same to everyone who chooses to use it.

How I live my faith

I don't consider myself to be the perfect Mormon by any stretch. We all make mistakes, and try to learn from them. I try my best to follow all the principals of the Gospel. Usually the best part of my week is when I have the opportunity to go to church on Sunday's. I always feel the spirit so strongly in every meeting. For me, the Sabbath day is the perfect day to try and grow closer to the Lord, and strengthen my testimony. I am currently serving as a full time missionary, in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. My testimony of the Gospel has tripled since being out. I love sharing the simple truths that have been restored to the earth by a modern day prophet. I've seen how the Gospel can change lives for the better. I absolutely love the Book of Mormon! It is truly another testament of Jesus Christ. The Doctrine in it is pure and simple. It truly draws us closer to God and Jesus Christ. When we live according to the commandments and principals taught in The Book of Mormon, we have the opportunity to live happy lives, no matter what our circumstances are. We are all children of our Heavenly Father, He loves us and wants us to be happy.
