Hi I'm Megan Mitton Summers

I'm a teacher. I'm a writer. I'm a dog lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a preschool teacher and a gymnastics coach. I grew up in California and Portland, Oregon. I live in Utah with my husband where I write young adult fiction, watch Disney movies, and wish I owned a dog. I am an avid reader, I love to eat Sour Patch Kids and popsicles, I am a former trumpet player, and I am a college graduate.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it is true. I know that our Heavenly Father hears my prayers and He loves me. I find guidance through reading the Book of Mormon and listening to my church leaders. I cannot imagine life without this guidance. I have seen how the gospel of Jesus Christ blesses my life and the lives of those around me. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have because it brings me comfort and peace. When things aren't going well, I know I can pray to God and He will listen and help me know what to do. I try my hardest to follow the guidance of the Holy Ghost - I focus on the thoughts that come into my mind while praying and how I feel. The Holy Ghost has helped me come to know The Book of Mormon is true and this church is true. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I wouldn't want my life any other way.

How I live my faith

My faith is a big part of my life. I go to church every Sunday where I participate in the choir and teach the women's class, called Relief Society, about once a month. I love to teach and share my witness of my Savior Jesus Christ. I hope that through my teaching I help others feel His love. For me, being a Mormon is easy. It's such a big part of my life that the basics have become habits for me. I don't have to adjust my schedule or go out of my way to live the way I do. I pray daily to my Heavenly Father, and I cannot imagine getting through a day without His help. I read from The Book of Mormon daily as well because it has helped me feel God's influence and love. I find hope and encouragemet as I read the scriptures. I try to live my faith by following Christ's example. Sometimes that is as simple as not getting frustrated at the driver who cut me off, and sometimes it's bigger. I try to be kind, like Christ taught, and I do my best to serve others as He did.
