Hi I'm Deven Skaggs

I am an actor. I am a friend. I am a laugher. I am a thrill seeker. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in theater since the age of three. I love the magic of theater and the wonders that come from giving an audience an escape from everyday life. I am a very out going guy! I LOVE PEOPLE! I love making people laugh, helping people with their problems, and helping people get out of sticky situations. I am very spontanious. I love going on adventures and discovering new things. I love laughing, dancing, singing, acting, reading, writing, running, and teaching. I love being a comedian! I love making people laugh! I guess you can call me the class clown...and I LOVE my family!! They mean the world to me! I couln't ask for better friends!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. It has always been a great influence on my life. I went through a few years in my early teens where I doubted if the church was true. The Lord worked through others in my life to show me the path I should take. Through prayer, scripture study, and faith I can now testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I love the comfort it gives me in times of need. I love the joy I feel when I know I am living its principles. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The Mormon Church has many teachings. I know that as I follow these teachings I am a much happier, healthier, succesful version of myself. I have learned this because I have fallen down. I have made mistakes. We all have. And we all will. Living the gospel has made it easier for me to get back up again. To press on in tough times. To see the good in every situation. Because of this I want to share it with those I meet. I have become a better son, a better friend, a better student, a better classmate, and a better ME because I reach out and help those around me.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Deven Skaggs
Missionaries are teachers. They are called to share the message of the gospel and its teachings. When you invite them into your home, there are discussions about gospel principles they prepared for you. They will invite you to live these principles. I add my testimony to theirs that living the principles they will teach you will bring greater joy, happiness, peace, and comfort into your life. God has given us those principles for our benifit. The missionaries are there to love and support you as you learn and live these principles. Show more Show less

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Deven Skaggs
On the homepage of mormon.org there is a link in the top right hand corner that says "request visit". Click on this link, and fill out the form of information. After doing this, missionaries will be in touch with you as soon as they can! (They are the best people to talk to!) Show more Show less
